Presumably, the footage was edited to remove those who did detect the difference. This is a pretty ambitious test, after all, especially? with some of the subjects, so the rate of failure was probably higher than most change blindness experiments, which usually are at least 75% successful. Change blindness happens because the enormous amount of sensory data that you take in every moment is constantly filtered and edited so that you retain only what your brain considers relevant.
